10 at Goafest
The team came home with 10 metals from Goa. 2 silvers and 8 bronzes. Work for Appy Fizz (posters and print), Eye Bank Association (print and copy), Coffee, Books & More (print and copy) and Green Cross Society (print and illustration) won us these 10 metals across categories.
Here is a low-res image of trophies (from Viraaj’s phone).

Creativeland gets Cholayil

What we did in 2008

Campaign India just released their Agency Report Card. They profiled 32 Indian agencies in it and here is our scorecard. They said …
The agency began its south operations this year, starting an office in Kochi. They have also set up Creativeland Asia Lab, an ideas laboratory that will look at conceptualizing ideas related to all aspects of communications. Creativeland made two key appointments as well, hiring Neil Flory as executive creative director and bringing in Sudheer Krishnan to head their south operations. Their work for Parle Agro got them shortlisted at Cannes this year.
Although the breadth of work may be small as compared to larger traditional agencies, the work done this year has been fresh and clutter breaking, especially their work for Parle’s Saint fruit juice and that for BigAdda.com.
Campaign Score: 6
For the same, we gave ourselves 8 on 10. Here is what we had to say …
2008 has been a good year for us. We moved to a larger office – a two-storied villa with a courtyard and a terrace. We got ourselves our own canteen, treadmill, coffee & soup machine, fus-ball table and in-house doctor. We went to Cannes. We launched Fresh Pick and sponsored a deserving college student’s trip to Cannes. Together we all went for one ‘new-year’ breakfast, two offsite workshops and one movie. We opened our second office in Kochi. We laid foundation for India’s first Creative Lab. We got seven new accounts. We got on board 30 new people. We got two buy-out offers. We got at-least one resume a day. We picked up something or the other at every award show we entered. We changed our office timing to 8.30 – 5.30. We stayed away from politics and drugs. We missed lesser deadlines. We spent lesser office-time in meetings, debates and boardrooms. We spent more office-time doing work. We spent a little more time with our family.
Saint Juice Launched

Parle Agro launched the most premium juice experience India has ever seen. We worked on the name, design, packaging and communication for the brand.
Oh, by the way, if any one wants some samples of Saint, please send in your mailing addresses. And a standard disclaimer – offer till stock lasts.
Saint Juice has already found fans. The press. Campaign India, e4m have already carried stories.
The Man. The machine. ‘The’ Appy Fizz is back!
The Man. The machine. ‘The’ Appy Fizz is back! And how!
This time around, Appy Fizz sports a new look designed by the lovely ladies at University of Design. And what an interpretation it is – a cool new t-shirt for Appy Fizz. The side of the pack is almost like Appy Fizz’s facebook profile. With his likes, dislikes, one-liners and causes that he supports. It’s a neat bottle to pick up if you wanna catch a few laughs. He’s already getting eyeballs and media is all over him. Check out what exchange4media has to say about him.
But the funnest bit was the commercial that we shot for it. In the commercial, Appy Fizz reveals his new look inside a supermarket. He dances, jumps and flies – things that Appy Fizz has never tried before, and all this while being the perfect show-off. Of course, he almost p#$*&d in his pants while doing the flying shot.
Working with Rajesh Krishnan and MFX in Malaysia, it was one of the most challenging shoots ever. It even involved action directors from Bollywood for the flying sequence inside the shop.
Appy Fizz’s abode will also be online shortly at www.appyfizz.com and a couple of new Appy Fizz Videos will be online as well (remember The Cricket Song and Donate your Ice?) Oh, and we also received our Cannes certificates for the two Appy Fizz ads that were shortlisted! Looks like fun times ahead for Appy Fizz. Not to mention, for us too!
